We conduct qualitative research across cultures, with a particular focus on the Global South. We focus on the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and their carers by asking:

• How do caregiving structures, practices, and ethics for people with ID vary within and between cultures?
• How is caregiving differently supported by development, welfare, healthcare, legislation, and specialist services across societies?
• What life-paths are available to people with intellectual disabilities in different cultural contexts?
